There are a lot of Onsen facilities in Japan. Onsen contain ions and minerals, so these are believed to act on injuries or diseases.

Spa therapy has been practiced since the ancient times, which is called “Tōji”.

Sake(Nihonshu) (en:Sake or Rice wine)

When we say simply “sake”, it means “Nihonshu”(rice wine).

Sake is a traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage produced by fermenting rice. The alcoholicity of sake is less than 22%.

As good sake depends on the quality of rice and water, “Shuzō”(sake cellars) are usually located near some of the best spring waters in Japan.

The people of middle age likes sake, but young people prefer beer more than sake.

Miso’s main ingredient is soybeans. Miso is thick, salty paste produced by fermenting soybeans with salt and rice and barley fungi.

The one of characteristic is completely different taste in East Japan, and Central Japan, and West Japan.

Now miso is one of the representative Japanese condiments, along with soy sauce.
